Tooth whitening
Our practice has been accredited as an Enlighten Professional Teeth Whitening centre.
Enlighten has been called the biggest breakthrough in Tooth Whitening in the last 15years.
It is the only system in the world to guarantee that the teeth will get to a "VITA shade B1" which is the whitest shade on a regular dentist shade guide.
The teeth look really naturally white after the treatment - unlike treatment where porcelain is used like veneers and crowns.
The breakthrough is that the guarantee applies to every single patient regardless of starting colour, age, lifestyle or dietary habits.
Time, smoking, tea and coffee are just a few things that cause your teeth to yellow and discolour. Whitening is a bit like a facial in that it helps unlock pores in your teeth so that stains are gently removed leaving teeth cleaner and brighter. Whiter teeth can take years off your appearance and the effects can last for years.
Although teeth themselves whiten well, any existing fillings or crowns will remain the same colour and may need replacing to match the new lighter colour of your teeth.
ENLIGHTEN EVOLUTION ICE - This is otherwise known as Deep Bleaching.
The procedure is simple and takes two weeks for 95% of patients. The dentist takes a special super accurate impression of your teeth and sends this to Enlighten's dedicated lab where new "super sealed" bleaching trays are made - (these trays were originally invented by a Los Angeles dentist in his own practice)
The patient wears the trays for 14 nights and then visits the dentist on the 15th day for a 60 minute in surgery session.
Amazingly the concentration of the gel the dentist uses in the Enlighten system is a quater the concentration of most other whitening systems. This possible due to the increase in permeability achieved by using the super sealed trays.
ENLIGHTEN RAMP - This too is a simple procedure. Custom made trays are made. These are made of thin clear flexible acrylic. The trays fit over the teeth very well (just extending on to the gum). Most patients find these trays very comfortable to wear and sleep with.
Bleaching gel is placed within the trays and worn for 15 consecutive nights.
With Enlighten Ramp and Evolution Ice results last indefinitely as long as you wear the trays 6 nights a year after your treatment. There aren't even any special dietry instructions so you can keep drinking coffee and red wine.
Here at Walton Dental Surgery we also offer QUICK WHITE in-surgery bleaching.
This procedure is otherwise known as power bleaching. A more concentrated gel is applied directly to the teeth and accelerated with light and heat. A 90 minute appointment is needed.
This method is suitable for patients who are unwilling to wear at-home trays. However, as with any tooth whitening system the teeth will gradually darken and it may be necessary to repeat the procedure after a few years.
